PLANNING FOR A FINAL OUTCOME
FINAL OUTCOME
For my final outcome I really want to show a series of 3 different surrealist collages incorporating the different techniques I like such as: the melting of Clingfilm and working onto the texture with both dry and wet mediums, working with oil paints and mixing it with turps ect.For my final I have a plan to show a process of an individual dying as they transform from being on earth to going into an afterlife, the way I wish to physically show this transition will be in a change of colour through the movement of mediums as a background and a an actually build up of texture. I will do the 3 pieces on a canvas which will be A3 size as I believe it will be a good size to create a collage which includes many different materials and textures relating to my concept. Furthermore, the surface type on a canvas is almost like it has been woven into like across cross pattern, so as a result, the texture will be picked up by mainly dry mediums if I were to work straight onto it as a primary background.
The canvas' will be white because when I carried out experiments using yarn onto a white background it made a much deeper effect on the shadows that actually lifted the coloured oil pastels, The oil pastels used when doing an experimentation had a positive impact on the compositions as the colours appeared much more defined and when I were to blend them, the texture was still picked up by the yarn but the colours appeared smooth as the white background broke up the use of 3d texture. Regarding the oil paints I used when in the experimentation stage, I found that they really had an effect on more so the colours I chose because the paint itself is very thick but is able to show a variation of line and marks by layering. In relation to the inspiration of fireworks that I photographed I really want to use the photos captured as a visual engagement within the 2nd composition as part of the series of 3.
