PLAN FOR COLLAGE SKETCHBOOK

At the beginning of looking at surrealist collages incorporating cut outs of vintage photos and space themed backgrounds, I actually started to experiment at the very start of my first mini sketchbook and I would really want to do more, By doing more I think it will show a lead on from what I started with to including my own images and adding backgrounds that are cut outs from shoots I have done.
I have purchased another sketchbook so I am to start working in there as I gather more images from research that I plan to print off, These images will come from google, my own primary evidence, yahoo, Pinterest and blogs. I am planning to reference the images on this blog and will then analyse afterwards whilst being critical about what went well and what I will not take further into the A04.
Due to having a family problem at the moment that links to my current theme I feel like I am going to use photos of myself with the person who will not be here much longer, incorporating colours that resemble my feelings towards the problem and creating positive cut out collages to give a positive effect on what will happen after they pass. (For example, using an image of that person which will be cut out on top of an image or drawing as a cloud, representing peace) Or for another example (Cutting out different objects or a scenario of what this person will be doing with they do die, as they are a strong believer of god I could create scenarios of heaven). The images of the space/planets/astronomy will be either photo shopped images from other artists work or real life primary evidence but either way I will work on top of them. also, When I begin to create these collages I will also use images from google which show characters in black and white images, creating a contract between the exaggerated and surreal colours shown on the background in comparison to the tonal back and white consistency. Like the artists I have looked at such as Djuno Tomsni and Sammy Slabbinck, I want to create a story from the image where the viewer is able to guess or see what their perspective of it is.

For the scenarios I want to incorporate in my work I want to either go down three routes which are:
-Looking at comical and humourus scenes that make the viewer think about the point I am trying to create.

-Different scenarios of what I think could happen to us when we die and the new life created.

-Re-create scenarios of when people have near death experiences that could link to going to hell if you have done society wrong (eg. falling off a water fall) which could include a space theme cut out as a background to create a surrealist approach still.

What I am planning to do step by step:
  1. Gather and collect resources of images from both the internet and images from my own shoots.
  2. begin to plan what scenarios I am going to do to make the images effective.
  3. Look at how I can include wet and dry mediums on top of my work to exaggerate texture so the viewer will be able to acknowledge if it gives a 3D effect.
  4. Incorporate techniques I enjoy such as melting cling film and working on them with oil pastels ect.
