GAINING VISUAL INSPIRATION

On Saturday 4th November I attended a bonfire night in Bedworth Miners Welfare park where i saw a spectacular firework presentation, whilst watching the fireworks explode into the sky I was shook by how staring at them it made you feel like the colours were coming towards you. I was really surprised by the effect the fireworks had on the human eye as it gave off an illusional effect, I also realised how the colour was able to spark more clearly as an exaggeration of colour by the background being black, I am going to experiment with using a black background whilst encorporating the techniques used in my current mini sketchbook.

I recorded my visual inspiration via my iPhone 6as i videoed it in normal and slow motion so i am really able to grab an attention to detail of the colours that would burst in the sky, i have also gained positively from recording in slow motion by acknowledging and visually being able to see them process of the ignited fire exploding as the pressure hits a high.
I thought that I would be able to link this to the theme of death and afterlife by creating a link between the quick burst of being alive to the very last heart beat, To me, When the colour ignites in the sky I feel almost rehydrated, like stress has been lifted from my shoulders. I believe that I would be able to signify my feelings into my work by using the colours and the shapes created when they shoot into the sky. Also, when I was doing the experimentation part of my exploration I was challenged to link the colours in space to a stimuli that I would be able to photograph, as the chance of me being able to get photos as primary research from out of space is very unlikely.
Furthermore, As I was originally experimenting with ways to create a textured background to give an effect of being in another dimension with distortion, I am going to experiment with the lines shown on the images and photos taken and will re create the images in my own surrealist way, whilst including aspects of a black background so I am able to work on top with colours such as pinks, greens and reds. I will experiment with acrylic so it really gives a feeling of a thick texture to layering material of cling film with a layer of emulsion on top to get a crisp texture.
