GERHARD RICHTER - FOCUS ON ADDING COLOUR TO SURFACES- ARTIST RESEARCH
Gerhard Richter is a visual artist who was born in Dresden on February 9th 1932, He began painting in 1962 and his work varies from oils on canvas to over painted photographs. Richter does not vary his pieces onto one particular element of art but works from abstract pieces to photorealistic paintings, His work demonstrates illusional space that gets created in a way where the viewer is able to perceive the work in their own way, The concept of Richters work is to present artistic movements which can be represented in many different ways, the mediums which the artist uses may range from using camera equipment to acrylic paints, the techniques in particular play a massive part in his work as bespoke the viewers perception.
